He has been married to Suzanne Plakon since 1985 and they are blessed with six wonderful children.

He attended Stetson University and graduated cum laude in 1981. In 1988, he founded the Nationwide Publishing Company Inc. The company publishes and prints in over 20 states and has an online presence in all 50 states and Canada.

Representative Plakon believes that we all have a responsibility to give of our gifts, talents and resources to help others that may be in need. He has taken active roles in the community through many organizations. Some of those organizations are: Seminole State College, Sanford Rescue Outreach Mission, Harvest Time International, Parents Television Council and the Seminole County Regional Chamber of Commerce.

In his first legislative session, Representative Plakon successfully passed three bills through the legislature which were signed into law by Governor Crist. This is a noteworthy accomplishment for a freshman legislator.

He is a strong supporter and leader in protecting the foundational principles that our country was founded upon. Other interests of Representative Plakon’s are golf, reading, travel, table tennis, bowling and motorcycles.
